Mayorkun goes philanthropic: Opens barbing salon for Uncle

Twenty-five-year-old Nigerian singer Mayorkun, born Mayowa Adewale has taken a leaf from his philanthropic boss Davido by opening a barbing salon for his uncle. The fast-rising star took to his Instagram to break the news to his fans and as he put it, he was giving back to the environment where he grew up in. In his statement, the singer added that he would name the salon Embassy Cut. Later on, he shared the picture of the salon which is located in Lagos’ Ilasamaja area on his social media handles.

Ilasamaja is the exact place where the Bobo hitmaker grew up. Mayorkun further urged the local community to visit the salon and have a taste of its services. A while ago, the young artist was signed by superstar musician and philanthropist Davido, in his record label DMW. This happened in the year 2016 after he was discovered by the Omo Baba Olowo (Son of a rich Man in Yoruba).

Mr. Adewale has since recorded hits like Bobo, Mama, Posh, Eleko, Fantasy among others. His boss, David Adeleke who happens to be the voice behind hits like One Ticket, Assurance and Fall is a strong philanthropist. Mayorkun is just following in the footsteps of his mentor and boss.
